The
Divided Heart: Art and Motherhood
by Rachel Power
A divided heart; a split self; the sense that to succeed
at one means to fail at the other.
Do
women still confront the attitude that a dedicated artist
will avoid having children for the sake of her career?
In The Divided Heart, Australia’s most respected
artists, writers and actors speak frankly about the wrench
between motherhood and their artistic life.
Australian
Mum and Artist Rachel Power navigates through the divided
heart of the artists to reveal the shocking, funny and
moving truth of the overwhelming demands of motherhood
and the undiminished passion for their work.
This
book will resonate with anyone who has ever wondered,
‘Who will I be when this baby is born?’

Spiritual
Business
by Kate Forster
Australian
born entrepreneur, Kate Forster, believes that spirituality
is the new black when it comes to success in business.
Kate s book Spiritual Business Creating A Business From
The Heart is a guide to achieving success in business
essentially by applying integral values to how you live
your life. Kate has always been interested in exploring
an esoteric lifestyle. This curiosity became more significant
when Kate s design business began to experience a difficult
period and the pressure of running the home and family
threatened to overwhelm her. Kate began to question the
traditional approach to business, and the balance between
work and home, and decided to explore modern and ancient
spiritual practises in an effort to turn her life around.

Pram
versus Creativity
What
do you Creative Mums think?Have your say at the
Dumbo Feather Blog:
In 1938, English author, Cyril Connolly wrote,
“There is no more sombre enemy of good art
than the pram in the hall.”
We’re writing an article on the truth (or
not) in that statement and we’d love to
incorporate your first-hand experiences of raising
a child and trying to maintain a creative life

Psychologist Author Diane Hansen
Diane Hansen is a local psychologist, children's author
and illustrator and mother of two.
'I believe that creative expression comes in many forms,
including work. When people are using all their natural
talents and abilities, they work with passion and are
happier, motivated and more fulfilled. Truly loving
the work you do comes out of a desire to express all
